FEMA Region IX recently held its regional technical assistance session for the Threat and Hazard Identification Risk Assessment (THIRA) and State Preparedness Report (SPR) processes. Melissa Follstad from the Haystax team in California attended alongside California Urban Area representatives, as well as those from states, tribes, territories, and cities throughout the country. The two-day workshop provided guidance to stakeholders on the process and requirements, and also let them share best practices with each other. Haystax regularly attends this session, using information gathered to assist and guide its clients in the creation of their annual THIRAs. Haystax has been providing this service in California since the creation of the THIRA requirement, and also provides THIRA and SPR support to states and urban areas throughout the country each year. For more information about your region’s local THIRA process, please contact your Haystax representative.
