Yellow Command – Bay Area Urban Shield 2015

Cal COP was used as the regional common operating picture for Yellow Command on Friday, September 11, during the Bay Area UASI Urban Shield Exercise. The goal of Yellow Command 2015 was to engage Emergency Operations Centers (EOCs) throughout the Bay Area Region and promote coordination across agencies and jurisdictions in response to a complex coordinated terrorist attack. Yellow Command consisted of four incident sites around the Bay Area that ranged from hostage events to explosions at the stadium. Cal COP was displayed in each of the participating EOCs throughout the four-hour operational period, and each EOC relied on Cal COP to receive incident updates from other jurisdictions and enter and share incidents applicable to their jurisdiction. Cal COP Mobile Indicator was also used during Gold Command on September 12-13. The tactical teams used the app to interact with Hazmat and identify the chemical threat being used in the water supply sabotage scenario. This was an important scoring point in the exercise, and all 32 teams were successful using the app and scored accordingly.
