TWO New CalCOP Map Layers Available for Use

Today, two new Map layers were added.

The first layer, Cal OES Current California Evacuations, is available to all users and is depicted above. It can be located within the external layers. The layer was sourced from the CalOES. Once the layer is in use, it will show active evacuation warnings and orders with the date and time updated. The layer refreshes every 10 minutes.  Areas impacted by either an evacuation warning or evacuation order will show on the map. The area is clickable by the user and an information box will populate with information related to the order or warning within the notes.

To utilize the layer, navigate to the Map app and utilize the “External” filter button which is second from the right at the top. When the menu for the external filters opens, choose “Cal OES Current California Evacuations” and click save.

The second layer, Alert CA Cameras, is available to all users and is pictured above. It can be located within the external layers. The layer was sourced from Alert California at UC San Diego. Once the layer is in use, it will show the location of all Alert California cameras. Users can click the icon to populate the information box which has a URL that links to a live feed of the camera.

To utilize the layer, navigate to the Map app and utilize the “External” filter button which is second from the right at the top. When the menu for the external filters opens, choose “Alert CA Cameras” and click save.
