Today, a new Map layer was added.
The new Map layer, Tsunami Hazard Area Map, is available to all users. It can be located within the external layers. The layer was sourced from the California Geological Survey. It was prepared to assist cities and counties with identifying their exposure to tsunami hazards. Once the layer is in use, it will show the areas expected to be impacted by tsunamis. Areas shown in the less opaque area are not expected to be impacted as they are outside the hazard area. Areas shown in the more opaque area are expected to be impacted as they are inside the hazard area.
To utilize the layer, navigate to the Map app and utilize the “External” filter button which is second from the right at the top. When the menu for the external filters opens, choose “Tsunami Hazard Area” and click save.
