2017 marks the fifth year that Haystax has supported the THIRA process for California urban areas. The Threat and Hazard Identification Risk Assessment examines significant threats and hazards in a region, outlines the capabilities needed to address the expected impacts, and lists the external resources needed to achieve those capabilities. This process is mandated for urban areas receiving funding under the Urban Area Security Initiative.
As in years past, Haystax attended FEMA’s Technical Assistance (TA) session focused on the THIRA and State Preparedness Report process. We attended alongside California urban area representatives, as well as representatives of jurisdictions throughout FEMA Regions IX and X. For more information on the THIRA process or for a summary of what was presented at this year’s TA, please reach out to your Haystax representative.
