The 106th Bay to Breakers race was held on May 21, with over 50,000 participants and 150,000 spectators. During the event, San Francisco Department of Emergency Management (SFDEM) Auxiliary Communication Service Volunteers were deployed along the race course to use the Cal COP Mobile Indicator application, also called the NCRIC Field Reporter. Using the mobile app, they reported on the location of lead runners, last runners, crowd size along the course, areas where pop-up parties in the streets were preventing the roadway being re-opened, and other race related issues. SFDEM staff in the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) used the Cal COP Feed Monitor and Watchboard to monitor the reports as well as the 311 and Fire/Medical calls for service in the area. The Northern California Regional Intelligence Center (NCRIC) and San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) staff at the SFPD Department Operations Center (DOC) also monitored the reports and feeds through the Feed Monitor and Watchboard.
